Without a scale or flower dimension this more difficult and could be either T. ixioides or T. juncifolia. With 10 - 30 cm selected this is a small plant. The large spots, few post-anther lobe glands and the sparse hair-tufts would suggest this T. juncifolia.
If you could suggest a flower size dimension across the flower this would help. A photo of the leaf or a description would also be helpful with records of these species.
On the evidence supplied I will confirm this as T. juncifolia rather than T. ixioides the alternative.

Hi, thanks for the comments. I'll try to find the plant again to get the leaf pics, but in the meantime the flower size was quite small - perhaps 12mm across. cheers, Kylie

Thanks Kylie, that make me more confident in my confirmation but it appears Sun Orchid flowers are for some reason smaller this year on the whole. T. ixioides can normally be 40 mm and T. juncifolia 35 mm across. I am hoping that it is only the size that is reduced and not the other distinguishing features reduced as well, such as hair-tuft and column glands etc.
