This is the first reported Melanistic garden snail, a very rare sight.

This is a very large snail and very black. Wasn't sure if it was a variation on the common garden snail or if it is a different species

I should also say it was found in the garden, east of the house. I forgot to adjust the GPS when I uploaded the pics. The GPS coords are our kitchen!

Melanistic Cornu aspersum. Trevor, could this be posted on 'Snails of Australia' ? First time I have seen a black garden snail.
