I can't actually see the photo you have attached to this sighting, but the thumbnail picture resembles a Psednura grasshopper. AnneG1 and I saw a similar one at the Jerrawangala (see sighting 4421590 on the South Coast Nature Map under AnneG1 (Psednura pedestris (Psednura grasshopper))).

Thank you for the alert. I've added the photos again - don't know why they disappeared. This insect looks very much like the posting you referred to. I found a similar one a few km away, I've just discovered . . .

Just seen your picture and can confirm it as Psednura pedestris. Specific to the sedge you found it on. Is it on your property at Charleyong? Probably wiped out by the megafire on the heathlands of the ranges.
