Behind the dragonfly's head in the fifth image, the circular, yellow-coloured anterior thoracic spiracle valve can just be seen, and is in the closed position. I understand this is the spiracle that provides oxygen for the dragonfly's head and the wing muscles. Thanks to Marcus for the initial sighting of this dragonfly at rest at ANBG.
