This pretty skink is Saproscincus mustelinus the Weasel Skink a native species. Although it does not occur as natural populations in the ACT (the nearest are in KNP near Khancoban and in the coastal ranges to the east of Canberra). In the past few decades it has become naturalised with small breeding populations establishing in many suburban backyards. It has most likely arrived in Canberra hidden in firewood, pot plants and nursery supplies. It has not yet been found away from the suburban area.
