This spider is definitely Hexathelidae, and the second of these I have sighted at Mundoonen Nature Reserve. I'm pretty sure its either a Bymainiella sp or a Paraembolides sp. possibly Paraembolides brindabella, bit I am still running up against a lack of info on these two genus and haven't found anyone yet with enough knowledge of these spiders.
I'm still checking on this one, initial suggestion is that spinnerets aren't right for Paraembolides, but that it could be recently moulted & that could be why. I'll hopefully confirm shortly.
thanks so much for these id's woyapp. so good to get these nailed down. this sighting was only metres away from Paraembolides sp. (genus) (A funnel-web spider) , confirmed as paraembolides, so i'm guessing its likely its the same species, unless more than one similar species are likely to be living together in the same area? thanks again.
