There are very few records from suburban reserves or in woodland habitats like this around the ACT - it is generally quite a rare and range-restricted species typically only found in higher altitude forests in Namadgi.

Nice pics Shorty.
eBird has three other "Canberra" locations where these have been seen, and ANBG has had multiple sightings of at least one bird in 2012, and one sighting in 2017, so not unheard of in the lower altitudes, but definitely unusual.

Thanks Christine, I have updated the sighting. I would say it is still a fairly significant sighting though.
