Hi Heather, choice of mouse sized small mammals in this area is between A. agilis, A. mimetes and Mus musculus. (There could also be the third-ever ACT record of a Smoky Mouse, distinguishable by its tail being paler below, but it seems so unlikely as to be hardly worth mentioning.) These shots show that the head is too long for Mus. A. mimetes is restricted to damper areas with heavy understory and is large and dark, so that leaves one choice.
