The sequence of images taken at the ANBG shows a Spider wasp paralysing a spider with repeated stings. In the first image the spider had already been stung but was struggling as the Spider wasp held onto its spinnerets and dragged it backwards up a tree. In the second image the Spider wasp raised the struggling spider to expose its underside and stung it again. In the third image the spider had ceased struggling and the Spider wasp turned it over, grasped one of its legs, and continued to drag it up the tree. The fourth and fifth images were taken when the pair were first sighted, with the stung but struggling spider being dragged backwards. In all images the Spider wasp was moving backwards up the tree dragging the spider behind it. The images have been orientated where necessary to provide a horizontal perspective, making them easier to view.
