I originally thought it was a wasp but the jaws made me think it could be a bull ant. Apologies if I'm totally out.

Hi SWishart, no, you are right on the money - good ID. Im only sorry I can't give you the genus - there is relatively little information available to allow ID to species based on the alates. Cheers, Jon
