Found under a rock, and these very small ants immediately started to move the objects (?) away.

Hi Christine, can't be sure of the species of Rhytidoponera, but the ants are moving the pupae in which the ant larvae are turning into ant adults. Some ants have a pupal case, like these, others make the transformation without a pupal case. Cheers, Jon
