Thanks for logging this sighting it's always interesting to see where the flying foxes are going to feed away from the camp at Commonwealth park. Do you know the tree type?

Hi MPennay, it’s an Oak tree that they hang in, but they steal fruit (usually stone fruit) from somewhere in the neighborhood and this seems to be their safe place to eat. They’ve been coming here for the past 3 years, I only ever see two or three at a time, quite often they’re squabbling and that draws my attention to them.

Thanks for the info Steve, sometimes there have been reports of them licking sticky substances from oak tree leaf in the Canberra region, if you notice them doing that it'd be great to document. Squabbling seems to be a favourite flying fox pastime!
