These things really sting!

Looks like only one set of stinging hairs, on the thorax, which is only consistent with D. casta, but the pink tinge all over is more like D. quadriguttata. This is the first larva I have seen that is nearly as ambiguous as the adults.

I'll check if they are still there and try get a better photo. The sapling was completely defoliated though.
