Known colony. This pale albino? caught my attention.

Hi RAllen, the pale ant is probably just a very young ant which has left the nest earlier than normal. Young ants are described as "callow" and are very pale when they emerge as adults. Their colour darkens as they become older. It is unusual to see such a pale ant outside the nest as they normally start life doing work in the nest - tending to the queen and young, and generally doing housework. Only when they are older (and darker) do they go out foraging. Cheers, Jon
