Alpine Ash suggested due to east facing location on Warks Road, straight trunks, height of trees (50 metres plus) and the bark being brown and thick on lower trunk, abruptly changing to smooth and creamy-white or grey on upper trunk, peeling in strips.

ID is tentative at best, but I agree they don't look like mountain gum, ribbon gum of narrow-leaved peppermint so alpine ash is the most likely species.
