User's notes

Not sure if this is Celtis australis. Planted in a private adjacent to HGW where the nettle tree is a problemgarden and growing at an alarming rate.

Not nettle tree - like all plants in the elm family the two sides of a nettle tree leaf do not mirror each other with one side longer than the other. Possibly a pear species?

Pear looks like a possibility, I’ll check the tree out in person when I’m back in Canberra.

I think this is the Chinese Tallow Tree - Triadica sebifera, formely Sapium sebiferum.

Thanks Meredith - This is a planted specimen as far as I know it is yet to naturalise in the ACT but it is a significant weed in SE Queensland and NE NSW.
