A number of Geometrinae have a pointed cap on the head, like
http://lepidoptera.butterflyhouse.com.au/geom/geom-cats.html
but I know none with the pointed last segment of this specimen.
I do hope you can rear it in captivity to get the adult moth to discover its species.

Great photo, its such a distinctive caterpillar, it would be great to discover the species.

Thanks both. If only I had have known it would be such an interesting specimen! Must make sure I have a jar handy in future.

Could this just be Crypsiphona ocultaria i.e all yellow just lacking the pink colouration?

A number of species are known to have caterpillars with pointed heads, see
