Indeed, didn't seem talkative as I took it by surprise whilst it was sunning on a log. I thought I could pick the sp. from my field guide and CNM but decided I couldn't, especially its diminutive size in comparison to other local dragons I am familiar with, eg, Jacky lizard, etc. I assumed it was a juvenile?
I think you are right John that it is a young male Nobbi Dragon. Yes pity inside of mouth not visible that would have indicated for sure that it is D. nobbi (if mouth pinkish). What makes me reasonably confident though that it is a Nobby Dragon is the pair of pale dorso-lateral stripes either side of the back (very rarely seen in A. muricatus) . These stripes become yellow during the breeding season in adult male Nobbi dragon. Secondly the location near the base of Mt Tennant is very near other confirmed sites with Nobbi Dragons on the lower slopes of the mountain.
