Was basking on wood next to the fireplace in the lounge room, have suggested Delicate Skink as this is what I've had at my house before, but I can't tell the difference between that and the Common Garden Skink.
Just a comment on how to separate the two species (L. delicata and L. guichenoti). The main way to separate them in the ACT and nearby parts of NSW is the presence of a dark mid-vertebral stripe in guichenoti (absent in delicata). In addition L. guichenoti has scattered dark and pale coloured flecks on back - the flecks are larger and more prominent than the tiny dark flecks found on the back of L. delicata. Identification guides also note that L. delicata has a head the same greyish colour as the back whereas L. guichenoti has a conspicuously bronze coloured head compared to the grey back. However I don't think this last id point is reliable and your photo of L. delicata is a case in point - grey body and a partially bronze head.
