Both birds were repeatedly dipping their heads into the hollow (rapidly) and making sounds as they did so, but didn't seem to be feeding babies. I can't upload the video

Thanks Maree - growling and spread wings like in your photo probably mean that there was a possum in the hollow, and it is a hollow that the Gang-gangs had a possibility for nesting
