Thanks for the identification, Michael. I was puzzled by the absence of a red stripe of the abdomen - is this a sex-related thing?

Yes it had me wondering as well. I checked out the badge pattern of other Neosparassus recorded in NSW and none looked at all like this. I then checked images of recorded Neosparassus calligaster and the amount and intensity of red is very variable and does not seem to be gender related.There were a few that looked similar to this record with no or very little red so I went with the confirmation, but perhaps treat with a little suspicion.

Thanks Michael. He (she?) is still wandering around the house so I'll check from time to time to see if the colouring changes.
