Yes it had me wondering as well. I checked out the badge pattern of other Neosparassus recorded in NSW and none looked at all like this. I then checked images of recorded Neosparassus calligaster and the amount and intensity of red is very variable and does not seem to be gender related.There were a few that looked similar to this record with no or very little red so I went with the confirmation, but perhaps treat with a little suspicion.
