Thanks - did you see them eating the liquidambar pods? or were they just sitting in the tree?

No, they were interested in my bird feeder / bird bath, which I've not seen before (usually only the sulphur cresteds, galahs and king parrots). I've checked back over 4 years of photos and can't see they have any interest in the liquidambar pods. They occasionally carry the pine tree cones to this tree though if the sulphur cresteds fly in to the pine trees.
