Not sure what this behaviour was. The ants were sighted clustered about what appeared to be hail impact damage to the Eucalypt, with the damage covered with a black mould-like growth. The ants were working on the growth and there appeared to be clear patches where it had been removed. None of the ants were seen carrying off the mould-like growth during the observation.
