Note sighting 4228723 from 2014:- Diplodium sp. (A Greenhood)
This orchid is at the same location as these 300 were, but I could only find 2 this time.

Michael it is still early and this year appears to be not as good as last year and possibly a little later.
The record you referred to in 2014 was 30 July and those numbers included both flowering plants and the later non-flowering rosette leaves. Diplodium basically differ from Pterostylis in that they either first produce flowers ( and no leaves) or later leaf rosettes but not both. Your later 2014 record shows both. In good years, like last year, you get lots of flowers and in other years fewer flowers. They are a colonizing species so produce more than one replacement tuber each year. Flowering is not a good indicator of actual numbers.

Thanks Derek, do you think it is worth another look in about June?
