User's notes

somewhat inconspicuous at edge of sedge patch (Eleocharis) on slopes of dam, growing as an understorey to Eleocharis. Prostrate habit. Distinctive purple coloration to inflorescences and to leaves.

Hi there
I wonder whether that could be the water couch? years ago someone pointed out to me a water couch at the edge of the lower dam off Blue Metal Road. Unfortunately, I neither took photos nor samples at that time - I can probably collect a sample for our botanist Isobel. W

It is definitely not water couch (Paspalum distichum), see: Paspalum distichum
