A message from social media about this sighting: "Hi can you describe its features please that set it apart as invasive exotic? I thought Naturemapr was mostly for spotting our native species. Seems like a lot of slugs around this year!"

Matthew, you can say we accept reports of any wild flora or fauna, native or exotic.

Hi Matthew,
If you click on the species link there is often a bit of information. The info for this slug reads: "Hailing from Europe this invader has become a highly invasive species in cooler parts of Australia, invading native vegetation along creek lines and temperate rainforests. There is a cream/yellow form and a grey colour form. It is called a hedgehog slug because tiny segments on its body stick out reminiscent of hedgehog quills when the slug retracts into a ball. "
