User's notes

A total guess as to what sort of insect it is. It does not have wings. Its antennae look like an extra pair of eggs. Its legs look more like a robber fly's than an ant.

Hi Con, nice photo. This looks like a type of wingless flower wasp. There are similar ones in the CNM Tiphiidae category and it looks like it might be pretty closely related to Diamma bicolor, known as a Blue Ant even though it is actually a wasp.
