A Nankeen Kestrel was perched on the power line, which ran from the ridge I was on across the Gudgenby River to the opposite ridge. I believe that It was a male given his grey head. The kestrel perched on the wire for most of the time that I was watching it but then flew across the river to a clump of trees on the far side.
