Apologies for the delay in identifying, this is the first sighting of the pupa of the Australian Painted Lady on CNM. Interestingly, out of the 317 sightings thus far on CNM of this species, 315 are of the adult stage with only the one larva and this one pupa.
this is very exciting thank you for confirming the sighting :) I noticed the adult butterflies visiting the pseudonaphalium luteoalbum and I wondered if there may be a relatioship between them. So I started watching patches and then I noticed it what looked like a pupa. I didnt know who it belonged to but I looked it up and it seemed very similar to the pictures I found of Vanessa Kershawii. So obvious in the end that it would be so well disguised given its colouring and texture. Sorry for the silly question but what does CNM stand for?
