User's notes

Very rare tree in the Tallaganda forests. This is the largest stand of Southern Sassafras I found in several years of searching and is a mixed stand with the more widespread but still interesting Black Olive Berry (Elaeocarpus Holopetalus). This stand has no eucalyptus over canopy and qualifies as proper cool temperate rainforest. Unfortunately this area burnt in the 2019/20 Black Range fire and may not have survived intact.
