User's notes

Thanks to Marcus Leach for the initial sighting of this fly with Puppeteer Fungus on a handrail in ANBG's Rainforest Gully. The growth of the fungus has reached the stage where fungal spores have burst from the fly and are scattered on the adjacent handrail surface.
