For a period of 4 days in early September, 2 Yellow Tailed Black Cockatoos (1 male, 1 female) feasted on the seed pods of a 25 year old 8 metre Hakea in our garden. They basically stripped the bush/tree clean. They returned 26/9 seeking more on the tree (also following warmer period when we had not seen them locally) but were harrassed and finally hunted off by a wattle bird that is one of several who claim our garden as their own and terrorise other birds if they can!
