User's notes

These ants were in a large tree which had fallen, they would have been perhaps 10m up if the tree were still standing. They seemed ummm, perplexed?

Hi Christine, I can't be sure what this ant is. Based on the size, colour and general look, I would guess it was probably Colobopsis gasseri, but can't be sure. Cheers, Jon
