Hi Jane Is this just a suggestion, or a positive ID from your expertise? See: https://keyserver.lucidcentral.org/weeds/data/media/Html/juncus_articulatus.htm https://bie.ala.org.au/species/https://id.biodiversity.org.au/node/apni/2902111
hi Mike, i should have stated its a tentative ID, not confident: corrections welcomed. I see this plant quite often in flowing water that is somewhat nutrient enriched. it seems to be palatable. I have another photo from another ACT site where some inflorescences are just visible: should i post that ? Although I see it a lot in these situations, I almost never see an inflorescence.
Tho it appears from ALA to be present locally, we haven't had a positive ID. A confirmation of a specimen by ANBG would be useful. By all means post the other photo with inflorescence.
Yes, I just want to repeat what natureguy said: Many thanks Ciaran, for trawling thrugh such a big backlog of photos, and sorting out so many outstanding Juncus: not an easy genus for most of us, and twice as hard when working with photos: but Juncus ID seems to be second nature for yourself! It was especially good to have old records sorted. Also good is that the number of Juncus species on CNM has expanded considerably over the last few years: thanks everyone.
