Stalked ascocarps 0.5 - 1.0 mm across growing from the the surface of an Acacia melanoxylon phyllode. Last image is from a squash mount that was too thick to achieve the clarity needed.

Ken, this may be something akin to Hymenotorrendiella eucalypti. A few months ago I identified a couple of my collections from the 1990s as that species. In one I noted: Pale brownish yellow apothecia, set with a sparse array of dark brown hairs; apothecia 0.5-0.75 mm diameter with stem length equal to apothecial diameter. Your spores look a close match to mine in shape and length. The hairs may be up to a half millimetre long but are very sparse (e.g. only 4 or 5 around an apothecium). The name eucalypti was given to the fungus by M.J. Berkeley who must have mistaken Acacia phyllodes (the substrate of the type collection) for Eucalyptus leaves. One of my collections was from the rainforest gully at the botanic gardens, on Acacia phyllodes (almost certainly those of Acacia melanoxylon). I won't be able to follow this up until next week.
