User's notes

When first seen, the mite appeared to be tugging at a springtail that was wedged in the prongs of a Cobbler's Pegs seed (image 2), but it couldn't get a good hold. It then walked around the end of the seed and approached from the other side, where it probed its prey in various places. The photos also show the backward pointing barbs on the prongs of the seed that make it stick so strongly.
