Probably not a good idea to handle plants for photography. At least with orchids on Black Mountain, plants that have been handled get eaten, presumably by kangaroos. If you want to separate a plant from the background in a photo drape a black t-shirt over your backpack. For closeups, you could use a macro app on your phone (or camera).
Thanks for the comment. I have a macro app, problem is getting the focus in the right place. Can lock focus on after handling but takes more time... Will try find something else for background though it's hard as I'm always getting hurried along the track...
