This is a moth in the genus Snellenia, probably S. lineata. It is a presumed mimic of beetles of the genus Porrostoma.

Wow! Thanks Kim. Last week i had a bug which looked like a moth, and this week a moth which looks like a bug ;) I will change the suggestion to moth.

Looks like I can't suggest the change.

Hi wonderful moth experts, I have suggested this moth species as the system wont allow me just to suggest a concealer moth, and I could not find S. lineata which Kim suggests it might be.

Great find Christine. I've been wondering how long it would be before one of these turns up. The beetles it mimics can erupt in large numbers if I recall correctly.

Thanks Ian, I thought it looked like a beetle which i have seen quite often, but it did look smaller which is why I stopped to photograph it.
