Thanks for the interesting photo, I'm a bit confused by the image, probably something else, rather than a damselfly...???

Very intriguing. Certainly not a damselfly. All I can suggest is an odd-looking parasitic wasp of some sort. If you have any other photos of this from other angles it would be worth putting them up. If it does indeed have wings, they must be quite small.
