Myriophyllum verrucosum is normally an underwater plant, but when it is exposed to the air it goes red. It is the patch of red plants in the middle of the first picture and on the far right of the second. They show the Murrumbidgee riverbed near Tharwa Bridge in December 2019. I featured this one to show how little water there was in the river back then. So after the wonderful rain we've had the river is much recovered. Canberra can breath fresh air and is rejuvenated.
