Female chick successfully fledged this evening. She must have fledged just before I arrived. She was in a small bush just 50cm off the ground, further down the hill, with Mum and Dad in attendance. When I approached she managed a second attempt into a tree, where she landed and balanced precariously, with Dad offering support. Dad then returned to nest where he fed the remaining male chick, then returned to the fledged female chick, who made a couple of more flights into new trees, rapidly developing in skill and confidence.

Male chick fledged on 24th January, 4 days after his older sister.
