I'm unsure of the species, but believe it belongs to either of the following two genera, both of which are in the Pterygophorinae subfamily: Pterygophorus and Lophyrotoma. Can you remember what it was feeding on? Some of the species in this subfamily feed on a variety of non-eucalyptus native plants and it may help narrow down the ID.

I think it was on a piece of chipped wood mulch which is what you can see in the photo. I assume that that is where I found it. I do not remember seeing it on any leaves. I took this photo some years ago and my memory could be letting me down...

This larva matches one identified as Lophyrotoma interrupta at https://pergidae.snsb-zsm.de/larvae , which is probably a reliable source. Larval images of L. interrupta on ALA aren't such a good match.
