Without a photo of the tree shape, it is hard to say from photos which species this is. All poplars have fluffy seeds.
Could you move the position of the sighting please. It is in the middle of the lake at present.

I thought the leaves were distinctive enough. Hard to photograph a tree in the forest. If you zoom in it is in the correct location beside Menindee Drive near the Boathouse. There is a problem with how the map behaves.
