At this location the male and female, both pictured in the 2nd photo are flying between both the trees side by side. Photo 1 the female was in the trunk, about 8 feet down from the hole making noises while the male on branch above watching out.
On the 2nd photo there is a hollow below them, I have another photo where the female is shown putting her head in and picking the sides of the hollow. She them went in about a foot I believe(based on the noise) to continue picking on the inside of the hollow.
He is very content to watch me, not farm from our home, so perhaps they are the ones who visit our tree and know me?
