User's notes

An Acacia on the median strip, Barry Drive Belconnen Way. Leaves have distinctive hooked tip and raised gland on the margin. Bright yellow flower heads near ends of branchlets. Bark smooth and fissured.

Yes, That was my first thought (boormanii) when I saw the tree. But when I looked more closely and read the descriptions in Costermans, it related more closely to linearifolia - the tree rather than bushy form, longer greener leaves; distinct marginal gland quite far from the leaf base; longer racemes.
The location (Palmerston) is wrong.
I guess boormanii has been planted more widely than linearifolia in Canberra.
