User's notes

When I was standing at the river bank I noticed a Little Pied Cormorant emerge from the water, whereupon it climbed a low branch. As I was moving around the curving bank to get a better view, further away along the bank but more obvious to the bird, the cormorant flew off down the river. It landed on a dead tree that had long ago toppled into the river. The bird turned its back to the rising sun, while extending its wings to dry.

White-faced Heron on the left as well

Hi Natureguy, yes, I was going to report the White-faced Heron as well but when I uploaded the photograph the only bird visible was the cormorant. I was concerned people would think I was identifying the wrong bird. To be honest, I only noticed the heron after I was editing the photograph:-) All the best.
