This is a large infestation of a highly invasive weed that needs to be removed, preferably with all the seeds as well, and the sooner the better.

That's a big infestation, best to try and get onto it. One for Mt Painter Parkcare and ACT PCS to work together on. I think heavy frosts used to keep this plant under check now not so sure.
