Author's notes
There was a group of Australian King-parrots at eye level feeding just to the side of the trail I was following. They were not perturbed by my presence, happily eating while I moved closer. I did not try to get too close as I did not want to scare them away from their food. In the group closest to me I saw a male, female and a juvenile. A bit further away I saw a male on a branch with the sun’s rays striking him like a spotlight.
