This looks like it might be at least partly subsp. trilobus, which naturally occurs much farther west and north than here. There were major plantings of Brachychiton populneus (subsp. not stated) in Canberra, I think in the 1910s or 1920s, as a sort of work for the dole scheme.

I'll keep an eye out for flowers. It's still quite a young tree but very slow growing. I haven't seen any others on the reserve.
