There are a lot of Thelymitra at this location - many have been in bud since early Nov. This is the first one I have seen with an open flower. There wasn't a leaf present so I have included an image here of the leaf of a similar nearby plant to show width/ ribbing. All of the plants here are in fairly open positions on the roadside verge. Flowering stems are all less than 30cm tall - flowers are only small - 25-30mm across. Last year in early Dec I photographed a range of Thelymitra at this same location - T. megcalyptra (3387170 - a little further back in the forest from the road), T. alpina (3387168) and Thelymitra sp. (3387180). To me the plants this year seem to be very similar to those identified as T. alpina last year - but it's hard to say if all the plants at this site are the same with most flowers not open now. As with last year's sightings I'll be interested to hear what the Thelymitra experts think. Cheers Glen
